'No Offence'

I have two jobs, one of which in an Middle School where I work twice a week for four hours.

I completely understand that these kids can me cruel and such but today was screwed up.

Now, in this particular class the majority of the students are Latino or African American. And by majority I mean 99% of the class.

During tutorials today my group became off topic too often. Which almost never happens, but it becomes almost impossible to control them in that way.

For some reason they were talking about racism and all of the sudden one of the girls turns to me and says "no offence" then turns away and says "but white people annoy me."

There are so many things wrong with that entire conversation and I refuse to look anymore into it or spend time writing about it.

But the term 'no offence' is indeed offensive. Excuse me for being white.

Some of these girls are the same girls who last week made a speech about racism and the MLK assembly they had at the middle school.

I love how others complain about racism when they aren't really better themselves. It just means that they are definitely not getting the point that MLK attempted to make.
